thanks guys for the answers they helped loads! BUT, now i need to know, will a v-tec(1.6 civic) up my insurance  much? i'm payin �400 a year on my 1.6TDS astra and i have nearly 6 years no claims.i'm 23?????????

you can search for the insurance group for any particular car

Just been on the parkers websit www.parkers.co.uk and they say the insurance of a 1.6 civic is cheap which is excellent news for you.

I wish my 1.6 civic was cheap on insurance though as it's group 15 but then again it's a 1996 model which at the time was classed as a 'hot hatch'.  But it's great.

Now since the days of stronger build and better security and engines need to be bigger to carry the extra airbags and safety features.
