Sorry I posted this in wrong site - here goes for the right site.

I was in my neighbour's and her brother came in and said he was done for speeding - it was supposed to be 30 miles but he was doing 37 - I have seen this guy drive and he does drive very very fast in this little cul-de-sac that I live in. However he was in a hurry out and just said he had to do 4 hours of (I dont really know) like exercises - does anybody know what did he have to do and did he lose points.

thanks tony AV but at the end of your answer it was a bit unsure - because of the awareness course he did - he did not lose points - is that correct.
No he shouldn't lose points.
Or should he gain any.
A Speed Awareness Scheme is an alternative to prosecution therefore it is not possible to attend the course and have points - it's one or the other.

You lose points for speeding?
It depends, has he been done within the last 12 months? if yes, 3 points.
The fact that he has attended a speed awareness course means he as not be 'done' in the last 12 months TWR.
