Spark Plugs

i never really looked at the pictures on the side of the pack of spark plugs, but after looking and seeing the visual instructions, im very confused. first picture is turning with fingers, and the next is the half to 2/3 turns, at what point do they apply

Use a plug spanner for the ½ to 2/3 turn once you can't turn any more with fingers.

You 'nip them up' with a plug spanner. Of course using a Torque Wrench would be the best practice using torque specified in the manual.
You use the fingers first so that you do not cross thread the plugs and so ruin the cylinder head. If you feel resistance you are cross threading so take the plug out and start again.

Put some Copper Grease on the Plug threads Tops, also check the Gap, they do say that the gap has already been set for each car, DO NOT take their word for definite.

You can not do that with the BM Old H, the plugs are deep in the Head, As old has said Tops but use the Plug Spanner in your Boots Tool kit. ( If I'ts there)

I usually insert the plug into a plug socket then use that to start it off, then I attach the wrench and tighten it. The spark plug socket should have a rubber holder built into it so it doesn't drop out as you lower it in..
