What Is An 'incident' ' Accident '
What do insurers mean by ' incidents ' 'accidents'
If you notice for example that your wing mirror is folded , but you did not fold it down your self - is that classed as an accident ( assuming something / an event must have caused it to fold )

Incident would be theft of or from, attempted theft of or from, malicious damage or someone hitting your car when you are not in it. The latter may be a bit of a grey area because the incident would be an accident. But the emphasis is on you having the accident, not someone else having the accident while you are tucked up in bed when they overcook it on a bend and take out the side of your car as a result of them having had 23 halves of lager.
