my astra diesel is chugging when driving slow and has a dead spot after changing gear .sometimes when i start the engine it runs like a bag of nails!!,but after a mile it is usually fine??.when engine is idling its up and down??any tips???

Don't know if this works on diesels too, don't see why not. Google "Vauxhall pedal test" and ring a garage with the code you get. I did this on mine and i just needed a heat sensor replacing
When was it serviced? change the derv Filter /Air Filter, Is it BLACK SMOKING? Injectors.
