Shilinger, you can't be British, surely, working with Americans or not. Nobody speaks pure American like that and not on a UK site, unless they are not British. Why don't you ask your American colleagues ? If it is bad as that where you are, or they think that way, they're certain to have bullet proof glass or know where to get it. Our politicians don't have bullet proof glass in cars, and I do know, having security clearance and being aware of these things. So where are you? We are doing our best to understand, but why would you need it in Britain?

we have seen a couple in our workshop (Range rovers), i always remember the vehicles weighed tons!! weight of the glass,it was so thick + all the other protection.
The conversion cost tens of thousands + fuel consumption will go out of the window.

What type of vehicle are you going to convert to bullet proof?

If it's a normal car your after you need to get it converted, it would cost £ thousands because of the weight of bullet proofing, the car would have to have new suspension, new doors with reinforced hinges,uprated engine, heavy weight tyres, etc'etc'

The car would be very slow but might get an mpg of up to20 mpg!

I believe the MoD dispose of surplus vehicles fairly cheaply. You could buy a Humber 'Pig' at a bargain price and although it's not very stylish it would withstand most of the fire it/you attracted.
