We attended a large country show at the weekend and as usual we couldn't find our car in the car park when we came out. I noticed some other cars had long poles attached atop of which was attached a large flag or similar thus identifying the car from way off. What are these things called and where can I get one?
I don't know the answer to that but I know a method some use is to set the parking location on the sat nav and then take their sat nav with them into the show. They can then use it to find their car later. Some phones may have a similar facility
It was not about the car park obviously! Just a light hearted observation that 2 males had immediate tips to hand on finding their way about with a sat nav.
You can't "make a note" of where you put your car in the middle of thousands in a huge open field which has no landmarks because everything has changed when you go home, more cars have come, some have gone etc
By the way, I agree with you xvbn, it is really easy to loose your car at a show! You park in the middle of 5,000 other cars in a 50 acre field with no visual markers and hope and pray you stumble across your own car 6 hours later!
Just go to any DIY store and buy a decorator's extension pole, such as this one:

Then make your own pennant (or fly a jumbo-sized pair of polka dot bloomers from it, if you want to!) and contrive a way to fix it to the car. e.g. by leaving the pole poking out from the sunroof.
