I sometimes see advertisements offering small cars for about £100 a month. If someone wanted an automatic version would they be supplied at just a little more than that?

I once hired a Fiat 1300 and drove round Majorca with my wife visiting Valldemossa where Fred and George shacked up and seeing several goats. Can't remember the cost in pesetas.
I think a bit more info is needed:
Define 'small' Citroen C1 / Renault Twingo?
Trouble is, there aren't too many small cars with auto transmission.

I know the goats would leave a whiff, but did the melody linger on?
Answer definitely off piste: it wasn't an automatic and the clutch was slipping. Not helpful on Majorcan roads.
So are we talking lease, or hire?

I've been regularly paying over £50 a week for taxis recently so a smallish automatic that didn't cost a fortune would fit the bill.
Then I hope my list helps. Beware large up- front payments!
im looking at this at the mo, not seen any small cars come up with auto for £100. if you can find the car, then you would prob get it and the amount you pay a month is proportionate to the deposit put down and the miles you are doing

I havent been able to find a lease deal at £100 per month without putting a substantial deposit down - which if i'm not buying the car at the end, im not going to do
Exactly.
the current deal i am looking at is £112 pm + £338 deposit, that's for a 3 year deal on a 107 - full maint which is a bit of a con as its brand new but does include tyres

What's the difference between lease and hire?
im not sure of the legal definition but to me hiring is more of a short term solution were leases are over several years. also with hiring, they usually ask for a refundable deposit against damage, last time i hired, this cost £250.
I think vetutse was talking about hire as in holiday hire.

just one search i did, changing it from manual to auto took the price up £30pm

Usefull info there, MccFluff. Something to consider.
Thanks all.
Sandy....have a look on .....contract hire and leasing .com. The rates will vary depending on the time of the month and the best deals are around the end of the quarter..i.e. the end of March,June.Sept,Dec....and you can haggle.
