A clutch pack is a clutch slave cyinder sometimes air assited and called a clutch booster. To replace one is quite straight forward and will need the hydraulic system bleeding out afterwards.

this sounds promising, could anyone point me in the direction of a workshop manual for a d reg ford cargo please online if poss. Thanks.
Surely haynes???
Sorry, p'raps they don't do commercials.
jenny's got it bang on, you must change both the booster and the slave cylinder, as it sounds like the clutch fluid is contaminated. failure to change both will ruin the seals in the booster pack, as for bleeding the system, a two person job only because it's not easy to be in two places at once, follow the same basic rules as you would for a car. the exception is if it is air assisted then you need to run the engine to keep the air pressure up.

Do you think i would need to replace the master cylinder.and would any one have a rough idea how much these parts would cost for an old d reg cargo.
www.serckintertruck.co.uk go on the site, find the branch nearest you and get a quote. they always do good deals and the branch staff know their stuff for the most part. what you need would be fairly popular despite the age of your truck i imagine. more so than cars, trucks are just a kit of other peoples off the shelf components. dont think of second hand as there's no way of knowing if it's any good til it's fitted and then it's too late.
