Why Wont My Renault Clio 1.4 16V Start??

Can anyone help me please i was driving the over day and my car just cut out?? tryed starting it again and it started and stopped straight away (this happened twice) its turning over just wont start? please anyone got any ideas??? Thanks in advance

Also i have had a diagnostics machine on it and it wont show up any problems?/

check the fuel

And the fuel filter, make sure it's not clogged up.

fuel is getting to the engine, as checked already its really confusing me

Have you checked that the spark plugs are sparking ?.

Sure you put the right fuel in last time you filled up?

yeah its deffo petrol thats in it

Have you checked that the cam belt hasn't slipped, that would throw the timing out.

thats the next thing to check going to do that tomorrow but really dont think its that

Well if you have got petrol getting to the engine and you have got a spark, then I think it has got to be something like the timing has slipped.
Why don't you think it is that ?.

because all seems smooth tbh but might of slipped will find out tomorrow

and wouldnt of fort it would of bein that because its fired back up after it stopped then again it done it so wouldnt of fort it would of fired back up if had of jumped

Maybe the two times that it sort of restarted it, it moved the timing out a bit more.
Have you checked all the earth leads from the car body to the engine or gearbox.

as i say had a diagostics machine on it anything like that would show up i should think

Engine managment light isnt lighting up?

Thats why the diagnostics machine didn't show a fault then, Depear93.

when i first put the car on the engine managment like does come on and the diagnostics machine has done its scan by the time the light goes out, thing is the car has got limp home mode on it and that didnt even activate

The thing is though, the engine management light would stay on if the ECU had recorded a fault and the diagnostic machine would then give you a fault code.
