sorry i posted it in the wrong place?  by the way the person driving the car handed himself in the next day

It depends if they are charged with death by careless driving =  no prison but up to 2,500 fine or death by dangerous driving = up to 10 years in prison, unlimited fine , minimum 2 year ban and deserve every bit of it.

it would of been death by dangerous driving. he has no license, he was very drunk, and he killed a man by running him over. i kinda feel bad for him (the driver) coz he's such a nice guy he just gets in with the wrong crowd. but i think this will sort him out, he felt so bad he couldnt handle it and handed himself into the police the next day, i know wot he did was so wrong, but its weird knowing him(and his whole family, best freinds with his sister), if u know wot i mean.
when I was 16 my best friend was killed in a car accident. She was in the car with a guy and he was showing off, being a boy racer. She died he got a 3 year ban!!!!  Sorry if I sounded harsh but people need to realise that cars can be very dangerous things not just toys

no i totally agree with u, if u remember a few months ago i was moaning and slaggin-off this iraqi for killing a little kiddie from drink-driving, and i was saying how bad it was ect, ect, but now its 1 of my mates it just feels so wierd. i feel really bad for his family, the person killed was a foriegner and had no family around here so its not like there will be a big riot between people. I dunno, i think im in shock, u never know the person behind the wheel, always the person killed
Not long enough
Usually when someone hands themselves in the next day after an accident it's to give themselves time to sober up, the penalty for causing death by irresponsible driving in this country is pathetically lenient.

Perhaps if every person killed were the loved one of a politician or a judge we might see something done about this travesty of justice.
Sorry, but I can see no excuse for having no license, being very drunk, getting into and driving a car, and killing a man by running him over. And the fact that the person who died was a foriegner and had no family around should make no difference. He was still someone's son.. maybe father.. or uncle.. brother. What if it had been one of your kids, or one of your parents he run down? As for getting in with the wrong crowd! If this crowd told him to jump under a bus, whould he do it?
