how much to re register a car?
My boyfriend sold his car not long ago, but stupidly we didn't keep the details of the new owner. The car was inherited when his mother died, and he mentioned a few weeks later that perhaps it would have been nice to keep hold of the registration plate, as a momento, since the car was the only thing he was left.
It wasn't a big thing, but it occurred to me it would be nice to see if I could get hold of the registration plate and re register our new car. I have spoke to the DVLA and I have the appropriate form to find out the owner's details so as I can contact them regarding it, and I am willing to pay all costs plus some money for inconvenience to re register their car, and buy them new plates.
What I was wondering was how much is it to re register a car I know the plates themselves aren't that expensive, but does it cost anything to actually get a new reg for a car? I work above a DVLA office, so I am happy to deal with all paperwork, and just get their signatures etc, I am just wondering what costs may be involved! Any tips would be great, ta
