Can anyone tell me why my 2001 1.3L ford fiesta (ok, it has a mazda 121 badge on) absolutely Drinks petrol?

nothing particularly mysterious as far as i know. i'm assusming it's got the same engine as the ka which is a fuel injected version of the engine ford have used for four decades. it will need a sesiion on a friendly garage's diagnostic machine. had a quick look around and cant find anything specific about the car's poor fuel consumption. a diagnostic session should find the fault quickly. it's not a car i've been involved with at all i'm afraid to say. good luck!

Silly question but you you screw it around all the time, red line it in every gear?

What sort of miles ae you getting out of a full tank?

is the idle speed abnormally high?

Nope - never goes over 4000rpm, mostly changing gear at the 3000rpm mark.

Am getting roughly 25-30 mpg at the moment
