changing front brake pads on an 'L' reg cavalier
i have never done this before.is it easy or am i better off getting it done professionally ?

It all depends, if a nut is rusty and seized on, the job can be a pain, but assuming everything goes smooth then it's a fairly easy job if you use a Haynes workshop manual.
Just remember, brakes are a VERY important part of the car, if in doubt let the professionalls do it, or have someone with you who has experience of such jobs.
