A good one will cost you anything from £5,000 £10,000 so not that cheap either. Slow, noisy, high fuel consumption, unreliable compared to modern cars. They are more of a toy than an everyday car.

I kind of inherited the Beemer, when the best deal was to trade in my Audi Avant for the Yeti 4x4 my OH now drives, The VRs Estate was bought as a dog-carrier, it was just sheer luck it had the 220 bhp unit in it (honest Guv), thinking of moving the Beemer on, but it's still a lot of fun, although the VRs is quicker.
TWR ~ I lost interest years ago. I take drugs that make me dopey and my brain doesn't work too well so it is perhaps safer for you lot if I stay off the road.
I live in the city centre so have no real need for a car.
However ~ the lottery fairy might visit me one day and I will employ a chauffeur to drive me around. I hope that doesn't cause me to be too carsick.

My MGTF was on the point of succumbing to the dreaded head gasket failure and we needed something bigger to carry the grandkids around so we bought a Jetta, good price, 60mpg on a long run, cavernous boot.

I had a Fiat Punto on loan while my then car was in the garage - I loved it so much, I bought it from the dealer, and loved it until it was destroyed by a National Express coach's driver who doesn't know not to overtake a car that is turning right!
I got a next-model Punto to replace it, which I have had for twelve years, and my next car will be a late-model Punto which I will have sprayed Fiat Yellow because I think it is a gorgeous colour, and it will be easier for me to find in the car-parks of music festivals!
