Bmw Electric Hood Wont Close Or Open
Hi does anyone know where the fuse is located on a BMW convertible 1995 316 series. The hood on my husbands car wont open or close. It was working fine then it stopped. we have been told its a fuse but we don't know where the fuses are or which one it is. Many thanks for any help Or any more ideas what is wrong.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.When you press the switch for it to operate do you not hear any noise (ie the motor) trying to open it? If you do then it's not the fuse. I only mention it because I have a Merc SLK and I'm having the same problem but I can hear the motor running. I've looked on forums and it's apparently some rubber/plastic round the switches that swell up in the heat and stop the roof from opening.

Does this help? According to the eigth picture down, it's fuse No 1 that's for a tilt or sliding roof...
