Since moving house, our second car is now surplus to requirements. I asked 'webuyanycar.com' for a quote which turned out to be £20 less than we wanted.

Has anybody had any experience of this company, and any problems that arose?

Your comments will be muchly appreciated.

And when you do the deal they may well say it's not in as good a condition as you described and offer you far less, although this website would suggest otherwise:

A suspicious person my query some of the reviews.
May.
Not going to we buy won't protect you from that behaviour ZM, I had that happen to me when selling one of late DH's motorbikes. The dealer offered me an inflated price sight unseen then when the bloke turned up to collect it he found all kinds of faults and then the boss phoned me up and tried to beat me down. I told them both to Foxtrot Oscar and sold it to a biker for less than I had hoped but about twice what they tried to get it for. I sold his car just by contacting a local dealer. It had to be someone local as I couldn't drive it. The bloke was very nice and helpful and I got a fair price for it.
I never said it would. I thought the OP wanted opinions on WBAC and so gave one and a link wheras you just seem to want to tell us a story which has no relation to the question.
They don't tell you clearly that they will deduct about £50 from what they pay as an 'admin charge'.

The Ryanair school of pricing methinks.
BT, if I were you I would place an ad in the local paper or put it on Autotrader.
Just pointing out that if Webuy are shysters, they aren't the only ones and that a local dealer might be a better option.

Thank you all for your answers.

ZM, some of the reviews looked too good to be true, but if you don't ask......

tonyav, I have booked an appointment for Tuesday next, I have no intention of letting the car go for less than their initial valuation, will try the local paper if the appointment proves fruitless.

Hopkirk, I had seen the £49.99 deduction for admin.

I'll let you know Tuesday evening how I got on! Fingers crossed.
BT, Honest John in the DT advises not to use WBAC, but to use Sure Sell instead. Link attached.

Thank you ladybirder
Wewillripyouoff.com Do not go any where near them B.T. rip off merchants.
I know a couple of people who have used them and were very happy. No complaints at all.
My friend was offered £50 before the £49.95 admin fee and he would only get that if the car was as described, oh and he had to drive it 25 miles for inspection. He didn't bother.
Depends how much the car is worth.
That may be a 1st Naomi, they tried it with my son!!
a friend at work tried to sell her car through them, they originally offered a good price, then when she accepted they dropped the price by a couple of grand telling her it was the wrong time of year to sell a convertible and they had several already.
TWR, perhaps Ummmm is right - it may depend upon the value of the car. If you're trying to sell an old banger for more than it's worth at auction, you can't expect any company to offer you more. Talking about a difference of £20 between your expectations and the offer received suggests to me an old car.
Just a Tip Naomi, in the past I have sold a few, Out side your house with a colourful board giving all details, "Word of mouth" Through Friends, Local Rag, Ebay, with Ebay, be very careful, make sure there is someone with you when the sale is going, also their Insurance.
I scrapped mine. They gave me a better price than We Buy Any Car...and it was more than I thought I'd get. Plus they come and picked it up and it was busted...
TWR, I can’t understand why anyone thinks this company is ripping them off. They offer you a price for your car, if you’re not happy with the price you’re perfectly at liberty to say no, drive away, and sell your car elsewhere. No one is under any obligation to sell to them.
