The air bag light is on in my car and my mechanic tells me it is to do with a detonator problem, i need to get my car through the mot and need the light out a friend mentioned that car electric people can fit a resistor which will put the light out rather than spending a fortune getting the main problem fixed is this true?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.The air bag light has to illuminate and turn off in the normal start up sequence, so removing a bulb or other anything else that prevents the light coming on will fail.....A long shot, but.... some seat belt pretensioner's are linked to air bag, as anyone moved or stuffed something under a seat? Loose connection/plug? Have a look.
