An unknown person (my money is on Mr P) put a wet towel in the laundry basket, and then dry but dirty clothes were put on top.
Now I have a few items of the kid's clothes that have a bit of black mould. Any ideas of how to remove it? I know the easy answer is to chuck it all out, but there's a brand new pair of jeans involved and I am very tight!
I have heard the putting white vinegar on it kills it, not sure about removing the stains though, maybe try normal stain remover after the white vinegar?
I had a tea towel like that in France 2sp and I soaked it overnight in a bucket of vanish with just a smidgeon of bleach and then washed it as normal and all the mould disappeared.
Svejk, it can only have been in there a couple of days (honest). There is a lot of laundry in this house! It's been quite muggy here, so the warm damp air has worked it's magic.
Thanks Lois, if the Vanish doesn't work, I'll try vinegar.
Mick, my washing machine is in constant use. The offending damp towel was at the very bottom of the basket and had only been there for maybe 2 or 3 days at the most.
