Saab Auxiliary Drivebelt
My Saab 900 broke down today, quite a bit of smelly plastic-type smoke. I've had it towed, haven't heard from the garage yet; but a friendly guy who stopped to help me reckoned it was the auxiliary drivebelt (drives the water pump, power steering etc). Does anybody know if fitting a new one is a straightforward job for a garage; and will its breaking have done any damage to the engine? Thanks

They replaced the belt (£20), but it also needed two idlers, which as far as I can find out are to do with tensioning the belt, which goes round lots of cranks and pulleys. My question is: why was one of these idlers £25 and one £72 ? Thanks
