car insurance
who is the cheapest motor insurance provider in the uk???
i have been all over the web and they all seem to be a rip off..
I have had my full uk license for over 10 years now, i have no points and have never made a claim.......BUT i only ever owned one car and that was over three years ago...so my 1 year no claims bonus has expired..
I do have three years NCB on a motorbike policy....does anyone know of a company that would take this into account for a car??
any suggestions would be appreciated

Have you tried Norwich Union? I seem to remember they were one of the few people covering motorbikes in Ireland a few years ago which might mean they're more flexible towards bikers.
Remember as well more expensive cars cost more to cover because the potential pay out is greater, sometimes people over-estimate the value of the car and end up paying more for no benefit.
Other than that raise your excess as high as you dare.
Have you tried CIS (www.cis.co.uk)?
I find them quite cheap and very friendly.
Thanks everyone, have tried the ones you have mentioned and they are all still very expensive...
The car is a 1994 Vauxhall Astra 1.4 with no mods, worth about 200 quid........not exactly a high category........
yet some these muppets are trying to charge me in excess of 600 quid TP only!!!!!
Have found elephant.co.uk to be the cheapest at 420.00
It just seems unbelievable to me because i had a old Vauxhall Cavalier around 3 years ago and they only charged me 195 then for the same cover...surely premiums havent increased by over 100% in such a short time. I tried a new quote for the Astra with the same company that charged me 195 for the Cavalier........
guess how much................
800 quid!!!!!!!!! Third party fire and theft for a car worth 200..............if somebody out there who works in the insurance industry can explain this to us all we would love to hear from you!
They should have a system in this country the same as Australia. Their Government have a compulsory third party cover system that is at a set low price (about 80 quid)...any extra cover such as theft, fire, flood or fully comp can be bought (at their ridiculous premiums) from private insurance companies.
well now i have finished my rant i had better fork out this four hundred quid before i give myself a hernia..
