Hi, I'm wanting to take my son to the airport tomorrow to watch the planes landing and taking off (for myself too! Love planes) I'm wondering where the best viewing spots are. Preferably with somewhere Nearby to park the car as I also have a toddler.

Any info would be fab! Postcodes to get to these good spots too! I'm not taking any fancy gadgets with me so the closer the better.

Thanks in advance guys!

If you go to the Aviation Park in a car, you have to pay so much per hour. If you park in the Airport Pub car park, I think you still have to pay but I think you get some of that back if you buy something in the pub so it's as long as it is short.
http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g187069-d6163790-Reviews-The_Airport_Public_House-Manchester_Greater_Manchester_England.html It's unlikely you will find anywhere nearby where you can park for free. x
I agree the pub is ok but that garden is only small, maybe won't be crowded on a Friday though who knows.
Don't think I meant 'as long as it is short' never was any good at sayings. :-) It can get very packed in the pub and the garden and to be honest with you, I think you are a little too close to the planes, with the fumes etc. Think the Aviation Viewing Park is probably your best bet.
If you could go either Saturday or Sunday there is this going on there.

I've been looking at the viewing park, we were going to go Saturday however I think it'll be a bit too busy. Looks like being the viewing park anyways x
The viewing park is ok, the Concorde tour is good if they still do it.

I love the pub, it's a great spot and I think you get a better view than the viewing park as you are much closer, might be a bit much for a toddler though as they are so close. Last time I went you had to pay to park in the car park though it was very busy and a nice sunny day so lots of people out in the beer garden out the back.

I've gone up the top of the airport multi story car park before now and watched some from there, nice at sunset but a bit later in the day for that at the moment.
Eve The Airport pub has recently been 'done up' - didn't know whether you knew? Beers went up £1 a pint, food more expensive and yes you do have to pay to park (which I think is a cheek if they want my custom).
Ellie, put up some Sarnies & go for the Pub for aircraft Viewing, you can see them approach / getting ready for take off, if you want to know the name of a Flight carrier ask one of the Plane spotters, the Concorde Viewing park are getting silly with their rip off prices by the hour.
