where is the fuel cut off switch on a 1995 ford fiesta 1.1

not at all sure there is one. whats the problem?

car wont start. whwn you lift down the sun visor it says to check the fuel cut off switch and reset it. where is it mate.

I am not sure it had one - if it did it would probably be behind a panel in the footwell - this is where they were found in later models

bit surprised. it's normally only fuel injection models have one to isolate the electric fuel pump in an accident. my mondeo has it in the nearside foot well like tubeway says. granadas had one in the boot sill. still not convinced yours has one. wont start= more details? will it turn over and not fire?

I think the notice on your sun visor describes what is known as an inertia switch, this is designed to cut off the fuel supply in the event of an impact ie crash.

im not sure if it would activate on its own but nevertheless incase it has, it should be located under the bonnet on the bulkhead, this is the panel that seperates the engine bay from the 'cockpit' it is on a little bracket and will have a couple of wires going to it, and maybe a rubber cover on, remove this and look for a button that has popped out - pop it back in.

If this was the problem then it should now be cured - good luck.

Just been to check on my girlfriends fiesta, the location i describe above was wrong sorry - (must be thinking of different car).

Anyway, ive consulted the haynes manual and found it is located behind the plastic trim, on the passenger side B pillar, inside the car. The B pillar is the part where your front passenger door closes onto.
