Has anyone got any opinions on the Fiat 500? It seems like a nice little car and I will be able to get it in my garage. I have a Honda Civic at the mo, and I have to manoeuvre it so much and when the car is nearly in the garage, I have to get out and put the wing mirrors in. Sounds ridiculous I know.

Thanks buenchico. Your info is appreciated. I will have a look at the link
Wife has had hers for 5 Years now and loves it, good driving position for her, as you say easy to get in the garage, and parking is a doddle,. I think I would sum it up by saying a perfect car for running around town etc, only cost in the 5 years have been service and MOT charges, nothing else. Very reliable.

KJN. Thanks for your answer. Sounds like a nice little car, and we suit me fine I think.
Bear in mind that Fiat cars have a dismal reliability record and Fiat dealers are poorly rated (not my opinion....from Which?).
If I wanted a small car with decent reliability and a very good dealer rating, I'd go for this......

I echo gingejbee - I'd happily hire one for city use (a bit scary on the Autostrada in something so small), but my experience of Fiat dealers is not good and longevity does not seem a key feature built into Italian cars.

The new Mazda 2 is a cracking car - about 3.5 inches wider than the Fiat 500 (including mirrors) - but I've had impeccable service and reliability.

Thanks ginjebee and sunny dave. Advice always welcome. I had a skoda
For a while while my car had a repair. Is it made by B M W? I have not tried a Nissan, but I hear that they are good.
Skoda are part of the VW, Audi, group. Happy car hunting.
The Fiat 500 is built in Poland, at the same factory that builds the Ford Ka (which is virtually the same car)

It therefore might be exempt from the usual Fix It Again Tomorrow that Fiat stands for.
