My lad has a 52plate Ford Mondeo,he has just changed the fuel filter on it.The manual says it's self priming,but guess what,it won't start.Can he hire a hand primer or does he need to buy one.

I remember those immortal words from a guy who was my mentor as an apprentice diesel fitter.. "There's only two things that will stop a diesel lad .. lack of fuel and lack of compression" In your case I'd say it's just air in the fuel line. Remove the filter and put some fuel into it. Refit it and switch the ignition on for a few seconds and then off. Dont attempt to...

In your case I'd say it's just air in the fuel line. Remove the filter and put some fuel into it. Refit it and switch the ignition on for a few seconds and then off. Dont attempt to start it.
Do this a few times as it will turn the fuel pump on and off and send fuel along the line. Make sure your battery is fully charged, if not attach some jump leads from another vehicle ... it should start.
