Is it just my perception , or are drivers getting more impatient nowadays ? -

Take the ones who overtake you to arrive at the junction a few seconds before you do

Take the ones driving behind , who have got their hand stuck on the horn when your'e at a junction waiting to make sure , before you pull out , that the vehicle coming along the main road ( indicator operating ) really does intend to turn

This is just another example of the general decline in manners. It's a sign of the times.
Can't disagree with Bookbinder...and it seems easier for folk to be rude from the supposed security of their cars......x
I don't find that.... maybe your driving has got worse :-)
Seems particularly prevalent in young female drivers so perhaps that is the reason for the increase; more young female drivers, many of whom are in the me me me club?

I ride a motorbike. You would be surprised how often there is a problem when I am riding down a straight road with right of way.

It is NOT my fault.
'Scuse me, Pixie!!!!!..... ;-)

:-). It's hard to tell from a description, Bastille. I'm just surprised you say it happens a lot. I don't find that- or do it to other people.
Bazile- autocorrect, sorry x

I can remember you posting a while ago that if you had someone driving close behind you you slowed down just to annoy them, do you think that has anything to do with it?
Question Author
really - where did i say that ?

Will have a look after dinner Baz.

I've noticed this. Partly the growing prevalence of SUVs and so on, drivers just feel superior to mortals in ordinary cars.
I think there may be a hint of something to do with you Bazile. Once someone has overtaken me and is clear, I don’t take any notice of what they are doing....unless they brake hard, they can’t hit me so I focus on more likely potential hazards. I do the wait to pull out thing if the car is close but you can also tell by their slowing down and moving over in the road rather than waiting till they actually do turn. Again, i take no notice of horns behind me when I an stationary.
Impatient! I find the opposite here. Especially at traffic lights the lights have changed and the driver is still sitting there. What do they want, someone to shout GO! at them or a grand prix flag waved at them.
I am forever shouting at them, go go go!!!!!
I do think JNO may have hit on something. I drive a higher car (Rav4) and have driven higher than normal vehicles for some time (Jeep and Jimney) You do get used to having a better view because of the higher seat and I have to keep reminding myself that when I can see a clear overtake or a hazard ahead, someone in a “car height” car or a sports car may not be able to. I don’t feel superior....but I am better informed!!
you sound like a dawdler to me. Dawdlers and ditherers a major cause of traffic jams.
