I would just like to ask if you would recommend a sun roof or not? Every time the weather is fine, I always say I wish I had a sun roof, and as I am changing my car this year, I was wondering whether to get a car that has one. Many thanks for any replies.

I don't like sunroofs for the following reasone:

* I'm a bit thin on top and the sun can be really hot!

* I wear glasses and I find that the sun sometimes reflects/refracts annoyingly in the lenses.
Don't worry about aircon adding to running costs. Driving with sunroof open will also affect the MPG.
I'm a fan of sunroofs, I like the way you can get some fresh air and let the heat out without the noise and draughts from opening the side windows. Sure I like air conditioning to but it does tend to make you feel as though you are in a hermetically sealed box if you are using it correctly.
....but I'd still tick the aircon box before the sunroof option as aircon does have additional advantages over a sunroof.
Really. Try switching your a/c on to get a length of copper piping to fit in the car.
No problem Old Geezer, cut it down to fit! :)
That reminds me, I followed a convertible yesterday with the roof down to enable a door to fit in the back of the car...so convertibles are best for carrying oversize items!
