Does a car's MOT certificate expire at 00:01 or at 23:59 on the date of expiry?

if it was 00.01 that would make it the next day so would have thought 23.59 on the expiry date.

You are allowed to drive up to midnight of the expiry date.

Once expired you can legally drive vehicle to a testing station provided that it has been pre-booked and other documentation ie insurance is still valid.
