I don't really know what question you are asking Hoppy.
I was at fault as it was me tipped his bumper. He was searching for a mark on his bumper but couldn't find one so I guess his dad and him are looking for big money for "whiplash".
Or on the other hand, like my women, she was hit in the back of the car by someone who wasn't paying attention; there seemed to be little damage, but only when it was checked out at the garage did they find considerable damage that wasn't evident until checked out on the 'ramp'. And now the culprit is clearly trying to avoid paying, causing my woman much stress.
It is possible that damage was unseen and it was not spotted until he took it to the garage - this has happened to me, I didn't take their details so was stuck with a huge bill!
Do not take too long with this, take a photo of the Bumper in front of a witness, time and date it in front of an independent witness, then go to your local garage & ask the garage to check if your bumper has any creases caused by an impact, plastic bumpers crease & blister the paint very easily.
if its not marked the plastic bumpers there's no way any damage has been done under the car ,if that had happened you would have felt a severe bump and always take many photos from as many angles as you can, with time and date set on the camera or mobe camera,i always carry a spare camera in car charged up for such occasions
A big factor was as usual - we all were driving bumper-to-bumper - it was extremely heavy traffic. I stand by what I have said and am actually emphatic about the situation I would go to court to prove this lad wrong.
The letter from the solicitor (I couldn't believe) he and I were in a collision.
Surely to the solicitor the police would have been called in this situation and the ambulance.
Jenny, the plastic bumpers on car's are held in place especially on the rear sides by Plastic Clips, also a steel bar's which can not be seen from the rear, if there was as much damage as this person states the plastic Bumper / clips on the rear would have been been knocked out of place, I would let this person "Take You" ( Court ) the courts are not stupid, they will see through this persons claim.
If there is no damage to his car then I can't see how he can claim whiplash. What I do know is, if you hit somebody from behind, unless their brake lights are not working you are at fault. but if there is no damage on your bumper then you have nothing to worry about just contact them and ask them to politely meet up and when you see him, get your money's worth by running him over hahah! IM JOKING BY THE WAY I know how sensitive people on here can be
I agree if you cause any damage you should leave your details but if you feel that there has been no harm done in any way then you have a good defence.
