Need to press some bearings in on my car suspension. How much pressure is obtained in a big bench vice??

You need something like this, I am sure you could hire one http://www.skf.com/uk/products/maintenance-products/mechanical-tools-for-mounting-and-dismounting/bearing-fitting-tools/bearing-fitting-tool-kits/index.html Trying to do it on an ordinary bench vice could cause damage.

You would be better off hiring or borrowing a proper bearing press.
