BIL came here late last week with a problem, it turned out a rear wheel bearing on a 2010 Ford Fiesta, the Job should take an hour at the most, the car was booked in On Tues last only to be done on Thurs, the decided to stick pn a new Hub ( Why, It beats me as the hub was like new, Total cost by this Burnley Ford Dealer, £250, for a job our local garage would have done for £60 including the Bearing, I had something on so I could not do the Job for him, Hows that for a rip off, beware of going to the dealers folks, you will get ripped off.

Bliddy hell, robbing gits. Did BIL ask them why they didn't just change the bearings.
That's why the 'mechanics' are called fitters.

All they do is fit new parts.

They are discouraged from looking for cheaper alternative repairs.

Tony, the BIL has not got a clue about costs / parts, he just paid it, I have advised him to go back & threaten to report them, I'm afraid he has not got my B@LLLLLLS, they would not have got away with that. Hop, you are right.
Yes your right, Hopkirk.
Yet the wheel bearings are pretty straight forward to swap.

If I was your BIL I'd be back to that main stealership asking why they changed the whole hub assembly.
