I have a TomTom Start 25 sat nav which, according to everything I've read, has maps of Wes Europe.

However, when I try to set a destination in Germany (specifically Munich or Dusseldorf), it doesn't recognise it!

Any ideas folks, please?

Although that SatNav is available with European maps, it's also sold (more cheaply) with maps which only cover the British Isles:

So I'm guessing that your version hasn't got European maps. If so, you can either get the maps you need from here
tomtom.com/en_gb/sat-nav/maps-services/shop/travel-map
or simply plan your journey online here

I'll try to make that first link 'clickable':

According to this site

https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/sat-nav/car-sat-nav/products/start-25/

the Western European map is a seperate download @ £44.95
Go to the website and see what updates it offers you - if you have Europe included it will be offered.
While it's a different brand, my Garmin needs the user to select a different country before an address there will be accepted, even when going from Scotland to England.
You must have the Sturgeon version Dooogie.
Every possibility ZM, when I put in a cross-border address it comes back with something I never asked. :)

Thanks all for your answers. I think TomTom's advertising is a little misleading, but hey ho!

douglas9041 - I don't have an on-screen option to change country.
