this one can be used by plugging into the car cigarette lighter? If it doesn't then I have to find one that does. Thank you.

I have one - it draws about 10 amps, so shouldn't be a problem if your battery is in good condition. It runs happily from the car without the engine running, although you may have to have the ignition on, depending how your socket is wired. Yes it does, should work with no problems
It does, on a point, keep the engine running whilst inflating your tyres otherwise It might flatten your battery.
Despite my problems with Halfords earlier this week. I would try them.

( anything is better than those bloody awful foot-operated ones ! )

Thank you so much guys that's my first Christmas present sorted then. I just couldn't see it mentioned that you could charge through the cig lighter and that was a prerequisite.

Mikey, I don't understand your reference to Halfords?
There's a video on your link and that shows ( albeit briefly ) it being plugged into the Cig lighter socket.

You mean right at the very beginning Mamya? I saw that but it was so quick I wasn't sure what it was. Had to check as I shall order on-line and would have been annoyed with myself had it been the wrong thing.

Thank you for taking the trouble to reply to my question to Mikey bookbinder. I have read the link but I still don't know why he's suggesting I go to Halfords when my link is to Screwfix, two people had posted before him saying Yes the item is what you want. So I wondered why he thinks I would want to go somewhere else where the service is appalling by his account. Just thought it was an odd thing to suggest. I'm ordering it on line from Screwfix so it's sorted now. Thank you again.
