my 94 transits cam (2.5 di) belt has gone. 5 puchrods have bent, before i replace do you think the valves would have bent or would the pushrods be the weal sppot

It's hard to tell.  If the rods are bent then the valves and valve guides might be damaged too.  Since you'll have to take the valves out to fit the new push rod I'd check the valve seats, valve guides and the valve itself.  Spin the valve to see if it's bent.  Good luck!
I believe on that engine the rods are a weak spot and you can change the rods without removing the cyl head. But as I have never done this I would not be offended if corrected.
done it loads of times on the di. the belt usually sheds it's teeth around the crankshaft pulley. the pushrods nearly always straighten out unless the have been bent before. you will need to lock the camshaft, the flywheel and the injection pump in the correct position so as the timing is correct before replacing the belt. i can do the whole job in around an hour, providing all goes well.
