If I purchased another car Tony the spare is the first area I would check, no proper wheel, no purchase.
I've only once needed to replace a flat in 30 years. Perhaps I've been lucky.
I agree TVR mine has proper spare wheel but that's what the Japanese do
The next car I have is going to have a spare wheel on the back with a picture of a lion on it!
EDDIE51 Most new cars now don't even have a space saver spare. Just a tube of sealant and a gas canister to re-inflate the punctured tyre.

Yes and the best of it is that you can buy a space saver spare wheel for a lot of them ( for around £200 ), certainly can for a Nissan Juke.
Your car will then roar down the road.
It will, OG. What kind of car is it? I have seen them. Big 4 by 4 things?

How could you possibly buy and drive a Motor and not be aware as to what type of spare wheel you have or don't have?
Tilly2 is it going to be a Landrover or something like a big Japanese jeep
Will you test drive your next car Tilly?
It's not just about cost, the clue is in the name - space saver.

Those of you saying you will not buy a car with one will have to sacrifice luggage space.
No, Eccles. I'll order it online and have it delivered to my door.
Easy Baldric. One looked at brochures for different makes, narrowed the choice down by price and spec, extras etc.. That there was a proper spare wheel was taken for granted, new cars aren't expected to come with spares you should need to check.
Thanks, TonyV.

No reason that can't make a deeper pit to put it in and leave the boot space alone. "Space Saver" is just marketing.
That depends on how wide your wheels are, OG.
Is there a reason you don't test drive your cars before making the purchase?

I am genuinely intrigued that anyone could spend so much money without being fully informed of their choice and being confident that it suits them.
You don't test drive the spare. And you can't expect a perfect car anyway. The choice is all but made when you go for the test drive, you are just confirming all is well.

Ah ok, OG, I just don't take anything for granted nowadays tbh.
