Faded Car Paint Caused By Magnetic L Plates
12 Answers
My daughter has had L plates on here car for some time when she passed her test, she took them off but there are square faded patches where the L plates used to be. I have tried polish and T-cut but they haven't changed. Have you any ideas what I could try to do to get rid of the patches?

So you should be T-cutting the main part of the paintwork, to try to get it to match the protected area, rather than the other way round.

I am sure its the area covered by the L plates that are lighter, I can see why you would think the rest of the car had been sun bleach, but for some reason the exact area the L plates covered are several shades lighter. It would be some job to fade the rest of the whole car and match it with the rest.
Best thing she can do is commit a couple of offences, get six points and have her licence revoked. That way she will have to put the 'L' plates back on. She's only got two years from the date of her test to do it though!! :-) :-)
Yes, I know - if I can't say anything sensible I should keep quiet :-)
