Cylinder Head Gasket
Any idea what a garage might charge (approx.) to replace the head gasket on my daughter's oldish Honda civic?

Rather then spend so much on a very old car, I thought of offering this;

which though quite old, it is low mileage, mot'd, full service history, lady owner and looks to be a nice little motor for the price, but guess what? - she doesn't like its shape. Doh!

^ Yes do not get it done at a Honda dealer. If you do want it done go to a good small independent garage. It would be worthwhile getting a decent mechanic to look at it, they will be able to give you an idea if it is just a blown gasket or cylinder head damage. It it's head damage then buying another car on part exchange may be the cheaper option.
