That's the sort of reason I go to my local garage, TWR. AS I've indicated already. they do 'supply and fit' jobs at nice low prices and they'll often do small 'labour only' jobs (taking 10 or 15 minutes) free of charge.
You going to keep doing that, Baldric?......Why try to stop people posting......Does it matter if it's been posted before?
Some of us aren't on here all the time....some of us have, unlike you, bad memories....
Perhaps you need a hobby? I can recommend a knit and natter group close to you......;-)

Aw Gness, and there was me thinking it was so good he said it twice ;o)
Perhaps 'essensials' (sic) should include a dictionary?

;-)

;o)
I carry jump leads, that's about it - anything else, the AA can sort it, or one of the wonderful men my three daughters are hooked up with can come and help me out.
You could give Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie a run for their money in the names of offspring stakes, TW.

I carry everything including alcohol testing kit (cannot be too with matters that may concern the French police)
I carry all the essentials mentioned by others, plus a vacuum compression bag with blankets and extra clothes. A friend once got stuck in snow for 7 hours and ran out of fuel, cars get cold very quickly. Any non local trips in winter and I take flasks and food, bit of a boy scout but like to cover all eventualities.
I carry absolutely none of that. Maybe a spare lighter and 20p under the seat.
Jump leads - yes
torch yes x3
bulb pack yes
tow rope - no thats what the RAC is for
Shovel, blanket, drink, chocolate, nuts, dog treats, blankets, scarf and gloves and hat.
Deicer and scaper yes - normally extra jumper in the car too
Oh and I have a first aid kit and a doggy first aid kit too
Having been caught in the snow just after Xmas, I now have a large shovel in the boot of my car. As a diabetic, I always carry some biscuits and a few of those thick flapjacks, together with some bottles of water.

I have 3 LED torches and my in-car Mobile phone charging lead. I keep a large, thick Goretex winter jacket on the back seat, 12 months of the year.
Most smart phones have pretty good torches.
USB charger to lighter socket.
AA Membership.
Hat and gloves.

Just seen the hobby point, Sitting in the Middle of the A2 in Kent would be good, he can then point them to a LINK.
I always make sure my phone is charged and I have my purse... other than that, no, I'd hugely unprepared.
I do have national breakdown cover though... and in my old clio broke down several times. I was always rescued within a few hours, and the driver was always more than happy to stop at a petrol station for a wee and some food should I need it!

Young Lass on the A74on the news this morning, been stuck there due to road blocked with snow, 7 hrs, just another point, sorry no Link but bright spark will be along shortly.
//Do You Carry The Essentials In Your Car?//

Yes, I always make sure there's a competent driver behind the wheel.
Currently: Torch, rope, florescent jacket, hard hat, hammer, Stanley knife, large 'bog roll', a shovel, electricians rods, plastering table, load of plastic sheeting, liuggage straps and some bulbs.

As pr AH anything else I pay the AA a fortune to sort out.

Must clear it out though some time!
