Car Advice Please

hi i currently have a 2010 A class, but ned a new car. i like the a class because it's quite high up and it's level getting in (no big lip to get your leg over). What models makes are about the same size and are high and with little or no lip/sill

I had Nissan Qashqai a few years ago, and it remains my favourite car. Well made, here in the UK. Lovely to drive and quite high up, although not as high as a van. I found I just slid into the seat, rather than bend down to get in, like my present Fiesta.

The Qashqai is a very popular car but quite a bit bigger than the Merc. I would condider looking at the smaller Nissan Juke. The problem now is every manufacturer is bring out small crossovers and the choice is massive. I would first make a list of your criteria, size, fuel, gearbox and obviously price. Make up a shortlist and go and look at four or five cars.

Dont' get an SLK. Wife and I have to crawl out the ruddy thing. And my truck is the opposite (L200).

Go round the dealerships and see what is on offer. You dont have to talk to them and if they try do what 'er indoors did in the BMW showroom, pick up your bag and walk off saying you hate it. Salesman was mouth wide open!

ive spent the day going round the dealerships which is why im asking here - sadly all i have is sore feet and loads crossed off as too low/too big/too much of a sill :)

I recently bought a Honda Jazz (automatic)which, for a small car is high and roomy. We are both very pleased with it.

I am also looking for a new car and it is tedious in the extreme trying to find one to suit.

I do recall a Renault hire car that I once had which was easy to access, I wish I could remember which model it was.

I love my Hyundai IX35 (2015) and I've no problem getting in and out - even in my present state. The IX35 is no longer in production but when we come to upgrade our other motor - a Golf - we'll probably look at a Santa Fe or a Tucson.

Hyundai do a 5yr warranty too.

Just go to a showroom, pick the car that you like and tell them to "wrap it up." All this faffing about is unnecessary.
I had a mate who knew all about cars and when he wanted to change he would go around having test drives here and there and after about a month of this palaver, he would choice.
He ALWAYS had problems with his new cars.
I went into the showroom picked my car NEVER test drove it and rarely had problems (if ever).

i went to see the juke today - no-go as sill too deep
i managed with the qashqai, but only the super posh one with electronic seat controls - i have such short arms i couldnt reach the seat adjuster on the cheaper one. I also managed with the honda HRV. Jazz no good

The Citroen C3 Picasso is light and airy, decent equipment, easy to drive, economical and quite a high driving position with a height adjustable driver seat.

We're on our third one. :-)
