At that time the tarpaulin covering it was extremely tatty, suggesting that it had already been place for well over a decade.
Since then the tarpaulin has been removed altogether, then replaced with another tarpaulin, then (when that too got tatty) replaced with plastic sheeting.
So the vehicle hasn't simply been abandoned but it's certainly not moved either!

One day i was driving past and saw an elderly lady outside the front door .
Curiosity got the better of me so I stopped and had a chat with her
The story is that inside the garage is another car of the same make and model
Her son bought the one on the drive for spares to fix up the one in the garage .
After 50 + years he still hasn't got round to it yet
