M6 Toll Road ?
I'm travelling to Congleton in the Peak District from Kent on Saturday 2nd June on the M1/M6 route.
Is it worth joining the M6 Toll road for this journey, and what's the toll charge ?
Thanks.

If these are up to date:- M6 toll charges are:-
Vehicle class Mon–Fri (06:00–23:00) Sat–Sun (06:00–23:00)
Class 1 (e.g. motorbike) £3.00 £2.80
Class 2 (e.g. car) £5.90 £4.80
Class 3 (e.g. car with trailer) £10.00 £8.60
Class 4, 5 and 6 (e.g. van/coach, HGV) £11.00 £9.60
I always use the Toll Road and in both directions - it's far less hassle.

IN general, yes, use the toll But it's only worth it if the traffic along the non-toll M6 is heavy.
My brother lives in Macc, so we use the route a couple of times a year.
From Kent, use M25, then M40 up to the M42 (round the north of Birmingham.) As we join the M42, we tend to check on Google maps what the traffic is like along the non-toll road.
We expect to use the toll, but if the traffic is light on the non-toll road, then we make that decision according to information from Google.
On a Saturday just after lunch, you might be OK, but check with Google. If you don't have that, or want to make that decision ahead of time, definitely take the toll road.
