12 yr old keeps cranking but will not start, leave overnight and starts ok but if I stop it sometimes will not start again.

Could be the main relay, RAYMAN. Pretty common Honda Civic problem I believe.

Sounds like ignition coil is breaking down or it maybe your coolant temperature sensor failing
