Seen a couple of kits to modify cars to push button start in the shops from Richwood and Foliatec. Do you still need to use your key for these to have the iginition on and unlock the steering lock? I'd assume you don't just get in and press the button surely? Has anyone on here got one? Are they easy to fit?

You still need the key for ignition positions I and II. The button does the position III business. You need to cut the cables going to position III and route them to your button. Additional cable used to lengthen the original cables should be the same diameter as the original.

If you don't cut the cables and wire the button in parallel with position III you can use either the button or the key to start the engine.

Waste of time these kits as you still have to use the key.
