I viewed a Ford KA to buy yesterday and noticed that when it was driven by its current owner (albeit a little irratically) it queaked when turning and accelerating with the noise increasing the sharper the turn and harder he pulled away. When i drove it quite normally around a carp park it seemed ok. Does anyone know if it could be something bad or a quick cheap fix? other than that its lovely and shiney (typical girl) and i want it.

Thanks for any help.

Could be wheel bearing wearing out.

he wasn't just showing off to the girls was he and accelerating hard enough to cause tyre squeal or wheel-spin was he?? it sounds like it from your description.

Really I doubt that anybody selling a car with a fault would drive in exactly the way that will show up the fault, they would be most likely to drive slow and steady so you don't notice anything!

If there is any doubt at all about the mechanical condition of this car then you should walk away. There are lots of Kas' around, every car supermarket has plenty to choose from, plus their are loads for sale privately, go buy another one! If you absolutely must have this one, then ask the seller to let you have an AA inspection done, or at least a look over by your local Ford dealer, to put your mind at rest.

If he only let you drive it around the cap park - maybe something fishy was going on

sorry

should have been carp park like the original

I'll get my coat

I agree with the above, there's obviously something wrong with it which is going to cost you money to get it fixed. Also as he was driving erratically, he's probably been driving the car like this since he's had it which is bad news for the car. There's probably one just as nice or even nicer around the corner.

If it's a KA you want and you can get to the Dartford section of the M25 I can recommend a super company of Ford specialists who have loads of really good low mileage ones in stock at great prices. No, I am not the owner- just a regular satisfied customer.
