Hello my lovely gang of willing assistants!
You will not believe this!! I filled up with petrol last night (having checked my bank balance - see original thread) and so I had a full tank this morning.
When I got in the car at 8:30am to head to work, the engine went on fine, then ticked over for about 5 seconds before shuddering to a stop. It did this every time I tried, including the good old 'hit the gas and rev her up' technique, so I had to call the breakdown! Welll, of course it was the same guy who sorted me out last time it broke down (10 days ago)!! He thought it might be cos it's low on fuel, but I pointed out it has a full tank and, in the end, got nowhere near being empty! Apparently the car might still think it's running low on fuel! Stupid car!
Anyway, he got it going but the 'engine management light' is still on, so it's gone down to the garage and I won't get it back til tomorrow at the earliest!
ARGH!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO frustrating when I've only had it 4 weeks.
Thought you might like the update, even though it's not good news! Thanks again for all your help and advice yesterday (and early this morning!)! :-)

I'VE owned it 4 weeks, but sadly, it my be MY baby, but it's an 8 year old baby! LOL It is under warranty and the last two sets of repairs they've paid for. It does worry me what it'll start to cost me when the warranty runs out. Today's repair (faulty coolant sensor) cost the garage 36.99. However, that doesn't refund me the 50 in lost wages from today, and the fact that if it carries on like this I'll run out of breakdown cover by the new year! :-(
