Hi, i did a cbt for a moped a year ago but now wish to upgrade to a 125, do i need to complete another cbt for the 125 as obviously a bike has new aspects such as gears or is the first one valid for both?

I would think you have to do a CBT for a geard bike but it wouldn't hurt to ring the company you did it with.

Hope this helps.

I don't think that legally you need to do another CBT, but it would be a good idea, as clutch & gear bikes are very different from automatics. I found the C&G bike very hard to get used to at first and the CBT Instructor suggested he could pass me if I did the road element on a scooter. He said I would still be able to ride a 125cc C&G bike even though I had taken the CBT on an automatic. I declined his offer and took a further CBT with a different bike school and got through on my next try.

You don't but as suggested it might be a good idea. If not take the bike to a car park or something and get used to it before going out on the open road.
No you wouldn't need to redo the CBT, however be aware that it is only valid for 2 years and therefore if you don't pass your full (or commuter) license in that time you will have to redo it every two years...
