I have a Hyundai i110.A couple of years ago I had a problem with non starting, I realized what was causing the problem----the key was not registering with the starter(the icon was flashing instead of staying steady).A friend gave me some "bright spark" aerosol which cured the problem. However it is at it again.At the moment the icon is steady sometimes but flashing other times..I am spraying every now and then. My main question is can I overdo the amount i use until it is OK or will the contacts get clean again eventually?

I've never used that particular contact cleaner so I can't answer you definitely. I use a similar product (from Screwfix) on my caravan electrics; I just give it a big squirt and it evaporates away. If you are having trouble very frequently it could be that the ignition switch needs changing. I don't usually recommend taking it to a garage but a Hyundai dealer might be familiar with the problem.
Just another thought - the car isn't telling you that someone has been trying to break into it or the alarm has gone off for some reason, is it. Different makes have different ways of alerting you to the fact that something has upset them. If the car is left outside maybe the recent strong winds have set off the alarm.
