car has gone into limp mode because DPF needs changing - does that have to be a special garage or can anyone do it?

Would think most garages carry that out now. Have you tried a good blast down the motorway for a few mile to help burn it off.

it's in limp mode, so can't

it yellow lighted previously and was blasted on the M/W a few times, but then it redlighted and went into limp mode
OK, not much else you can do, but shell out I'm afraid, Unless anyone else comes along with advanced knowledge of getting round it.
Perhaps worth risking £10 on this before you commit yourself to an expensive replacement.

thanks all
New DPFs are very expensive. Your garage may be able to carry out a regeneration without removing the filter from the car. This involves getting the car out of limp mode.
