Been told I need a wheel alignment. Just done a little google here and there, am I right in thinking that it is the track rod ends ( i think they call them) that they move to a different position.???
No you're not. 'Track rod ends are flexible ball joints that attach to your track rods and allow your front wheels to rotate and steer effectively. They play a major role in making your car easy to steer and you would struggle without them'
Thats the puzzle RH, car drives in a straight line even when not holding the steering wheel. I can break hard without holding the steering wheel and it will not move left or right, will hold a straight line.
Tyre wear on outside edge. I think he called it positive camber. He his telling me the truth because he only does MOTs not repairs, have used him for a very long time.
It sounds to me as if the "toe-in" is incorrect. "Toe-in and toe-out adjustments are made by screwing the track-rod ball-joint ends up or down the track rods to alter their length". See here (about half way down the page):

Thanks Etch and all for info. Sounds right Etch by what I've been told and looked at. I believe outside edge wear is called positive toe in. I need to know before I take it so I can see them do it, and know what they are and should be doing.
