Car Taxation Levels

Thinking about changing my car to an Audi RSQ3.
On Autotrader they are clearly stated as ULEZ ( ultra low emissions) so the road tax should be low. However in the running cost section the tax quoted varies between £165 and £2015 for identical cars. How does that work.

You have to be careful, the 40K is the list price + extras as at new, not what you pay. That's why I always ask and get it in writing from the dealer. My BMW was 39300 and the wife's jag was 39500. Just scrapped in!
Depending on the age the tax rules did change, quick Google should help you out.

dave - I think that sums it up nicely. The complicated rules that are designed to persuade me to change my old Diesel for a smaller, cheaper petrol car have instead shown me that it's better for me to hang on to my old car, thus depriving the Treasury of lots of money and leaving me using a much less-green car than they would like.
